5 Facts about Ohio that Relate to Health Care -
Tim Ryan's Ohio Health Care Reform will:
  • Improve coverage for 355,000 residents with health insurance
  • Reduce costs of uncompensated care for hospitals and health care providers by $11 million annually

3 Most Important Issues to Me -
  • Healthcare Reforms
I believe that every human being deserves health care insurance. Over 40 million American citizens cannot afford it, or are not offered it through their jobs. With this reform, the life quality of the citizens of America would increase, and so would our economy. This reform would not only give all Americans insurance, but cut down the costs of uncompensated care for hospitals and health care providers.
  • Affordable Colleges
With more items affordable within colleges such as textbooks, more highschool graduates will attend. Fewer costs will give the oppurtunity to many more students to earn a college degree. To help secure America's future and grow our economy, we, as a nation, will need far more college graduates. By cutting down these costs, this will make our goal far easier.
  • Middle Class Restoration
The middle class right now, as a whole, is struggling financially along with small business owners. I believe that major tax cuts should be put into the middle class so that they can recover. The millionaires and billionaires do not necessarily need those tax cuts, and Republicans disagree. This disagreement is holding this bill back from passing.

My Proposed Bill:
My bill, HB85, will ensure that all children from the ages of 3 to 5, will attend at least one year of preschool. Studies show that the children who attend preschool are more likely to graduate highschool and college, will have better reading skills, will have less of a chance getting arrested as a teenager, and much more. Attending preschool will ease the transition into kindergarten by teaching kids pre-reading skills, basic math skills, and how to cooperate with their peers. I believe that preschool should be mandatory for these reasons and many more.
